BTS frontman RM is showing his art collection. Fans are flocking to see it

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is showing works from the personal art collection of RM, leader of the K-pop band BTS. It is the first time he has shown the collection at a museum. NPR reports that the first preview day of "RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me" sold out and that the museum shop stocked more inventory in advance than for any earlier exhibition. RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon and who is 32, began visiting museums and collecting art nearly a decade ago. His collection focuses on Korean artists from ancient times to the present, among them Yun Hyong-keun, Kim Whanki and Chang Ucchin. He worked with two SFMOMA curators on the show. Most of the works come from his collection, with a few from the museum's own, such as a Mark Rothko painting hung beside one by Yun. The exhibition has eight sections, one of them devoted entirely to the color umber. RM said two questions mattered most to him: whether a work really moves him, and whether it still has something to tell us in 2026. He called the exhibition "a pretty long introduction" to himself. Some fans told NPR it was their first visit to an art museum. Photo: Beyond My Ken, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art به گزارش NPR بلیت‌های نخستین روز پیش‌نمایش «RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me» تمام شد و فروشگاه موزه بیش از هر نمایشگاه دیگری از پیش کالا آماده کرده بود. عکس از Beyond My Ken، CC BY-SA 4.0، Wikimedia Commons.
