IranWire reports that, according to the Iranian Writers' Association, security agents detained Elyas Ghanavati Lari, a writer, poet and civil activist from Mahshahr, on October 21, 2026. The association says that several days later there was still no word on where he was being held or on his health. It is not known which body detained him, where he was taken or whether any charge has been brought, and nothing has been published about access to a lawyer or contact with his family. No official explanation has been given. Ghanavati Lari was born in Mahshahr on June 3, 1988. He is a poet, fiction writer, playwright and performance artist, and his poetry, plays, literary criticism and social criticism have appeared in various publications and websites. His published works include the book "Two Silly Plays to Gather Dust" and the essay "Proudhon and Marx at the Scene of the Theft". In his writing he has also taken up the critique of political economy and the analysis of works of art.
الیاس قنواتی لاری، شاعر و نویسندهٔ ماهشهری، بازداشت شد
به گزارش IranWire، کانون نویسندگان ایران خبر داده است که ماموران امنیتی ۲۱ اکتبر ۲۰۲۶ الیاس قنواتی لاری، نویسنده، شاعر و فعال مدنی اهل ماهشهر، را بازداشت کرده‌اند. به گفتهٔ کانون، چند روز پس از بازداشت هنوز از محل نگهداری و وضعیت جسمی او خبری در دست نیست. معلوم نیست کدام نهاد او را بازداشت کرده، به کجا منتقل شده یا اتهامی علیه او مطرح شده است یا نه، و دربارهٔ دسترسی او به وکیل یا تماس با خانواده‌اش نیز اطلاعی منتشر نشده است. هیچ توضیح رسمی دربارهٔ دلیل بازداشت داده نشده است. قنواتی لاری ۳ جون ۱۹۸۸ در ماهشهر به دنیا آمد. او شاعر، داستان‌نویس، نمایشنامه‌نویس و طراح هنر اجراست و شعر، نمایشنامه، نقد ادبی و نقد اجتماعی‌اش در نشریات و وب‌سایت‌های گوناگون منتشر شده است. از آثار منتشرشدهٔ او می‌توان به کتاب «دو نمایشنامه احمقانه برای خاک خوردن» و مقالهٔ «پرودون و مارکس در صحنه دزدی» اشاره کرد. او در نوشته‌هایش به نقد اقتصاد سیاسی و تحلیل آثار هنری نیز پرداخته است.
