UC Davis Gorman Museum plans second Native American Art Market

In The Davis Enterprise, Michael G. French writes that the Gorman Museum of Native American Art at UC Davis will hold its second Native American Art Market on Sunday, November 8, following the success of the first market in 2025. Vendors will sell work by Native American artists from California and beyond, including jewelry, cards, clothing, housewares and artworks. The market runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, and entry and parking are free. Two groups will perform. At 11:30 a.m. the Dineh Tah' Navajo Dancers, directed by Shawn Price, present traditional Navajo songs and dances with the aim of teaching audiences about Dine culture. At 1:30 p.m. the California Drums Alaskan Native Dance Group, formed two years ago by Alaska Native people living in Northern California, honors the traditions of its Southeast Alaska homeland through song, dance, drumming and language. The museum, which is free to visit, is part of the UC Davis College of Letters and Science and is marking its 75th anniversary this school year.
