A bold stage production that fuses Shakespeare's Hamlet with Radiohead's 2003 album Hail to the Thief is heading to London. Co-created by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke with directors Christine Jones and Steven Hoggett, Hamlet Hail to the Thief sets Shakespeare's text against the band's music, which Yorke has personally reworked and which is performed live onstage by a cast of musicians and actors. After sold-out runs at the Royal Shakespeare Company and at Factory International's Aviva Studios in Manchester in 2025, the show will have its London premiere at the Barbican Theatre from October 31, 2026 to January 23, 2027, with Samuel Blenkin returning as Hamlet and Ami Tredrea as Ophelia. The pairing is less unlikely than it sounds: recorded in the anxious years after September 11 and the War on Terror, Hail to the Thief is steeped in paranoia, dread, and Orwellian unease, themes that echo Hamlet's poisoned court and unraveling mind. Yorke has said he finds it strange and fascinating how the work came to life, and that he is glad to bring it to a wider audience.

یک اجرای صحنه‌ای جسورانه که نمایشنامه‌ی هملت شکسپیر را با آلبوم Hail to the Thief گروه رادیوهد (محصول ۲۰۰۳) درهم می‌آمیزد، راهی لندن می‌شود. نمایش Hamlet Hail to the Thief که تام یورک، خواننده‌ی رادیوهد، آن را همراه با کریستین جونز و استیون هاگت خلق و کارگردانی کرده است، متن شکسپیر را در کنار موسیقی این گروه می‌نشاند؛ موسیقی‌ای که یورک شخصاً آن را بازآفرینی کرده و گروهی از نوازندگان و بازیگران به‌صورت زنده روی صحنه اجرا می‌کنند. این نمایش پس از اجراهای پرفروشش در کمپانی سلطنتی شکسپیر و در استودیوهای آویوا (مرکز Factory International) در منچستر در سال ۲۰۲۵، اکنون نخستین اجرای لندن خود را از ۳۱ اکتبر ۲۰۲۶ تا ۲۳ ژانویه ۲۰۲۷ در تئاتر باربیکن روی صحنه می‌برد؛ با حضور دوباره‌ی ساموئل بلنکین در نقش هملت و امی ترِدریا در نقش اوفلیا. این پیوند آن‌قدرها هم که به‌نظر می‌رسد نامتعارف نیست؛ آلبوم Hail to the Thief که در سال‌های پرتنش پس از یازده سپتامبر و در بحبوحه‌ی «جنگ با ترور» ضبط شد، سرشار از حس بدگمانی، ترس و فضای اورولی است، همان مضامینی که در دربار آلوده و ذهن آشفته‌ی هملت بازتاب می‌یابد. یورک گفته است که هنوز شکل‌گیری این اثر برایش غریب و شگفت‌انگیز است و خوشحال است که آن را به مخاطبی گسترده‌تر می‌رساند.
