Riley Keough joins the MUBI Podcast, hosted by Rico Gagliano, to talk about her role in Rosebush Pruning and about her career. The film is directed by Karim Aïnouz from a screenplay by Efthimis Filippou, the writer of Dogtooth, and is loosely based on Marco Bellocchio's 1965 film Fists in the Pocket. It premiered in competition at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival, and alongside Keough it stars Callum Turner, Elle Fanning, Jamie Bell, Tracy Letts and Pamela Anderson. MUBI describes it as a cutthroat satire of class, fashion and privilege. Keough, an actor and filmmaker who has also won a prize at Cannes and who is known for The Girlfriend Experience, plays a larger-than-life character far too taken with wealth and fashion. She explains what drew her to Aïnouz's unconventional, darkly comic film. The conversation then turns to Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, a production remembered for how hard and intense the shoot was, and Keough says it was on that set that she found love. Rosebush Pruning is streaming exclusively on MUBI from August 21 in most of the world.
