Radiohead Announce 21 Shows in Australia and Japan

🎵 Pitchfork · September 8, 2026 · Owrang Weekly #19

Radiohead have announced a 21-date run across Australia and Japan for spring 2027. The series begins in Perth on May 3, continues with multiple nights in Melbourne and Sydney, and concludes with five performances in Saitama, Japan, in June. The band says these are the only shows it will play in 2027 and that no further dates will be announced. The announcement follows weeks of speculation after a "Tokyo 2027" teaser appeared during Japan's Summer Sonic festival and Radiohead billboards surfaced around Tokyo's Miyashita Park, although no Tokyo dates have yet been confirmed. Radiohead last played Australia in 2012 and Japan in 2016. The shows continue Radiohead's gradual return to live performance, on a new model. In 2025, the band undertook its first full tour since 2018, playing a series of European dates shortly after releasing Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003–2009). Guitarist Ed O'Brien had previously said the group intended to visit a different continent each year and play twenty shows, "no more, no less." Radiohead-related projects have also multiplied over the past year, including a traveling Kid A Mnesia installation at Coachella and the stage project Hamlet Hail to the Thief. The newly announced dates suggest that, after years dominated by the members' individual projects, live performance is once again becoming a more regular part of Radiohead's activity.

Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003–2009) آغاز شد. Hamlet Hail to the Thief.
