The Kingdom of Bhutan, the world's last Vajrayana Buddhist nation, has launched the Building Fund for the Museums of Bhutan, a global fundraising campaign led by its Department of Culture and Ministry of Home Affairs. The twelve million dollar goal will renovate three national treasures: the National Museum of Bhutan in Paro, the Royal Heritage Museum in Trongsa, and the Ta Dzong archaeological site in Trashigang. A key part of the plan is creating outdoor cultural venues that turn the museums into living centers of education, celebration, and global dialogue. US donors can contribute tax deductibly through the Bhutan Foundation, a registered nonprofit in Washington, DC.
