Writing for The Conversation, Katayoun Shahandeh reviewed the Iranian Contemporary Art Biennale at Mall Galleries in London. War, internet restrictions, suspended flights and economic pressure made shipping work out of Iran difficult, so pieces travelled through improvised channels. She argues the exhibition's very existence is part of its meaning, and that the diaspora treats distance as both wound and resource.
