The Recording Academy has revised the eligibility rules for the Grammy Awards’ Best New Artist category. Under the new rule, artists may now submit for consideration up to four times instead of three. The change reflects how artist development has shifted in today’s music industry, where performers often release several projects before reaching wider public recognition or Grammy voters’ attention. The category has long been debated because some nominees have already been well established by the time they receive a Best New Artist nod. The Academy also announced several other changes, including the addition of three new categories: Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best Latin Song, and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. Two categories, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance and Best Traditional Folk Album, are also returning. According to Pitchfork, the 69th Grammy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2027.

آکادمی ضبط در تازه‌ترین تغییرات خود برای جوایز گرمی، قانون مربوط به بخش Best New Artist را اصلاح کرده است. بر اساس این تغییر، هنرمندان از این پس می‌توانند به جای سه بار، تا چهار بار برای نامزدی در این بخش معرفی شوند. این تصمیم در پاسخ به تغییر مسیر رشد هنرمندان در صنعت موسیقی گرفته شده است؛ جایی که بسیاری از خوانندگان و گروه‌ها پیش از آنکه برای مخاطبان گسترده یا رأی‌دهندگان گرمی شناخته شوند، چندین اثر منتشر می‌کنند. این تغییر در حالی اعلام شده که بخش بهترین هنرمند تازه‌وارد سال‌ها به دلیل نامزد کردن چهره‌هایی که از قبل در صحنه موسیقی شناخته شده بودند، محل بحث بوده است. آکادمی ضبط هم‌زمان چند تغییر دیگر را نیز اعلام کرده است؛ از جمله اضافه شدن سه بخش تازه با عنوان‌های Best Asian Pop Music Performance، Best Latin Song و Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. همچنین دو بخش Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance و Best Traditional Folk Album دوباره به فهرست جوایز بازگشته‌اند. طبق اعلام Pitchfork، شصت و نهمین دوره جوایز گرمی روز یکشنبه ۷ فوریه ۲۰۲۷ برگزار خواهد شد.
