MUBI Notebook, in partnership with the Locarno Critics Academy, is publishing a series of critical letters in which this year's participants reflect on the Swiss film festival. In this second installment, four critics consider cinema's capacity to join together disparate pieces. They reference the 1983 film «Sans soleil», which contains the line "Nothing sorts out memories from ordinary moments. It is only later that they claim remembrance, when they show their scars."

MUBI Notebook با همکاری آکادمی منتقدان لوکارنو مجموعه‌ای از نامه‌های نقادانه را منتشر می‌کند که در آن شرکت‌کنندگان امسال به جشنوارهٔ فیلم سوئیس بازمی‌گردند. در این قسمت دوم، چهار منتقد دربارهٔ توانایی سینما در کنار هم قرار دادن قطعات متفاوت تأمل می‌کنند. آن‌ها به فیلم «Sans soleil» از سال ۱۹۸۳ اشاره می‌کنند که در آن گفته می‌شود «هیچ چیز خاطرات را از لحظات عادی جدا نمی‌کند. تنها بعدها است که آن‌ها ادعای یادآوری می‌کنند، وقتی که زخم‌های خود را نشان می‌دهند.»
