San Francisco Opera is presenting Mary, Queen of Scots by 98-year-old Scottish-American composer Thea Musgrave, her debut on the company's main stage. Soprano Heidi Stober sings the title role and Clelia Cafiero conducts. The production arrives during a turbulent opening to the season after an orchestra strike temporarily disrupted performances before an agreement was reached on September 18. Remaining performances are Tuesday, September 29 and Friday, October 2 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, October 4 at 2 pm at the War Memorial Opera House, 301 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco.
