About this work
In an effort to make poetry an active part in the daily experience of American high school students, this project, launched in 2002 during Billy Collins’ tenure as Poet Laureate, gives students a chance to read or listen to a poem on each of the 180 days of the school year.
این طرح یک برنامهٔ آموزشی است که در سال ۲۰۰۲ در دوران بیلی کالینز بهعنوان شاعر ملی آمریکا راهاندازی شد. هدف آن این است که شعر به بخشی از زندگی روزمرهٔ دانشآموزان دبیرستانی آمریکایی تبدیل شود. در این برنامه، دانشآموزان در هر یک از ۱۸۰ روز سال تحصیلی با یک شعر روبهرو میشوند، چه از طریق خواندن و چه گوش دادن. این طرح میکوشد شعر را از فضای رسمی ادبیات بیرون بیاورد و آن را در دل تجربهٔ روزانهٔ نوجوانان جای دهد.
