This two-volume monograph offers the first critical edition of the medieval Arabic translation of Galen's Commentary on Book 2 of the Hippocratic Epidemics produced by Hunayn ibn Ishaq (d. ca. 870). The edition is based on all extant Arabic textual witnesses, including the Arabic secondary transmission. این اثر یک تصحیح انتقادی دو جلدی است از ترجمهٔ عربی قرون وسطایی شرح جالینوس بر کتاب دوم «اپیدمیکهای» بقراط، که حنین بن اسحاق (درگذشتهٔ حدود ۸۷۰ میلادی) آن را به عربی برگردانده است. این تصحیح بر پایهٔ تمام نسخههای عربی بازمانده، از جمله انتقالهای ثانویه، تهیه شده است. از آنجا که متن یونانی اصلی از میان رفته، این ترجمهٔ عربی تنها منبع موجود برای این اثر مهم جالینوس به شمار میرود و بسامد نقلقول از آن در متون پزشکی عربی قرون وسطا بر اهمیت آن دلالت دارد.
