This two-volume monograph offers the first critical edition of the medieval Arabic translation of Galen's Commentary on Book 2 of the Hippocratic Epidemics produced by Hunayn ibn Ishaq (d. ca. 870). The edition is based on all extant Arabic textual witnesses, including the Arabic secondary transmission. این اثر یک تصحیح انتقادی دو جلدی است از ترجمه عربی قرون وسطایی حنین بن اسحاق (درگذشته حدود ۸۷۰ میلادی) از شرح جالینوس بر کتاب دوم «اپیدمیکهای» بقراط. این تصحیح بر پایه تمام نسخههای عربی موجود، از جمله منابع دست دوم، تهیه شده است. از آنجا که متن یونانی اصلی از بین رفته، این ترجمه عربی تنها گواه بازمانده از این اثر مهم جالینوس است. گستردگی نقلقولها از این شرح در متون عربی قرون وسطا نشاندهنده اهمیت و تأثیر آن در سنت پزشکی اسلامی است.
