In the post-liberation period of Bangladesh, women-centered plays in theater were few. این مقاله به بررسی نمایش‌های زن‌محور در تئاتر بنگلادش پس از دوران استقلال می‌پردازد. نویسنده نشان می‌دهد که در این دوره صدای زنان در تئاتر تا حد زیادی غایب بود و همین سکوت، گروه‌های بزرگ تئاتری را واداشت تا به‌ویژه در دهه هشتاد میلادی آثاری زن‌محور بنویسند، ترجمه کنند یا اقتباس بگیرند. اقتباس‌های دهه نود بلندپروازانه‌تر شدند و کوشیدند متون خارجی را نه به شکلی کورکورانه، بلکه به گونه‌ای بومی‌شده به مخاطب محلی عرضه کنند تا اعتماد به نفس تئاتر در بازنمایی زنان را تقویت نمایند.
