This is an academic article examining aesthetic appreciation of urban landscapes. It surveys how landscape aesthetics has emerged as an important approach in recent decades for understanding and perceiving environments, and has become prominent in landscape literature. The article investigates different orientations in landscape aesthetic design and the criteria for aesthetic preference in city landscapes, beginning with the question of how aesthetic indicators of the environment relate to urban landscape. The work addresses the theoretical foundations and practical implications of aesthetic appreciation in urban design contexts.
