About this work

A cycle of about fifty short Middle English religious plays staged from the 14th century by York's craft guilds on wagons moving through the streets, from the Creation and Noah to the Passion and the Last Judgement. After almost four centuries of neglect they have been revived since 1951, sometimes on wagons and sometimes in the Minster.
