About this work
Jason abandons Medea, who gave up her family and homeland for him, to marry the daughter of the king of Corinth. Exiled and humiliated, Medea takes a terrible revenge: she kills the new bride and her father, and then her own children. Euripides stages the rage of a foreign woman without easy judgement.
