Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 — Kirill Petrenko's inaugural concert with the Berliner Philharmoniker, 2019
About this work
The concert that opened Kirill Petrenko's tenure as chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker paired Berg's Lulu Suite with Beethoven's Ninth, the first of the orchestra's Beethoven anniversary programmes. Critics heard a lean, energetic Ninth that felt freshly rethought. This performance can be watched at home by subscribing to the service.
