About this work
An hour-long work built on a cycle of eleven chords, driven by pulsing pianos, mallet instruments and four women's voices, with rhythms shaped both by percussion and by the length of a breath. Performed without a conductor, it moved minimalism toward a richer harmonic world and has since entered the repertoire of ensembles worldwide.
اثری حدوداً یک‌ساعته که بر چرخه‌ای از یازده آکورد بنا شده و با ضرب‌های پیوستهٔ پیانوها، سازه‌ای کوبه‌ای ملودیک و چهار صدای زن پیش می‌رود؛ ریتم‌ها هم با ضربه و هم با طول یک نفس شکل می‌گیرند. این اثر بدون رهبر اجرا می‌شود، می‌نیمالیسم را به جهانی هارمونیک‌تر برد و اکنون در کارنامهٔ گروه‌های بسیاری در سراسر جهان است.
