About this work
Ennio Morricone's score for Sergio Leone's western opens with a theme that imitates a coyote's howl and gives each of the three protagonists a different instrumental voice: whistling, guitar, wordless voice, harmonica. 'The Ecstasy of Gold' and the music of the final three-way standoff are among the most famous cues in film music, and silence is used as deliberately as sound to build suspense.
موسیقی انیو موریکونه برای وسترن سرجو لئونه با تم اصلی‌ای که زوزهٔ کایوت را تقلید می‌کند، به هر یک از سه شخصیت سازی متفاوت می‌دهد: سوت، گیتار، صدای بی‌کلام و هارمونیکا. قطعهٔ «جذبهٔ طلا» و موسیقی دوئل پایانی از شناخته‌شده‌ترین لحظه‌های موسیقی فیلم‌اند و سکوت نیز در ساختن تعلیق نقش دارد.
