About this work
Hirayama cleans public toilets in Shibuya, Tokyo, living a careful, repeating routine of work, books, cassette tapes and photographing sunlight through leaves, until a visit from his niece stirs up his past. Koji Yakusho won Best Actor at Cannes 2023, and the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature.
