About this work
East Berlin, 1984: Stasi captain Gerd Wiesler is assigned to bug the flat of playwright Georg Dreyman and his partner, actress Christa-Maria Sieland, and gradually music and literature transform his barren life. Donnersmarck's first feature won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
