Jeffrey Beaumont, a college student back in the small town of Lumberton, finds a severed ear in a field, and his curiosity draws him into the life of nightclub singer Dorothy Vallens and the violent world of Frank Booth. Lynch exposes the violence and dread beneath calm suburban America, and the film has divided critics since its release.
