About this work

Bag-e Gham (Garden of Grief) is a collection of ghazals by Abolqasem Lahuti, composed in Stalinabad in February 1939 and written in the Tajik language. The poems belong to a period of tyranny and are connected to the performance piece Sorud-e Kuhsar (Song of the Mountains). The ghazals explore themes of sorrow and suffering as conveyed through the classical Persian lyric form.
