این متن درباره روز عاشورا و روزه‌گیری در این روز است. متن بحث می‌کند که سنی‌ها روزه‌گیری در روز عاشورا را ترجیح می‌دهند و آن را یک سنت مهم می‌دانند، درحالی‌که برای شیعیان این روزه‌گیری نوآوری محسوب می‌شود و مورد تأیید نیست. بر اساس تحقیقات تاریخی، روزه‌گیری در عاشورا اصلاً در ماه محرم نبود، بلکه در روز دهم تشری انجام می‌شد که با روزه‌گیری یهودیان به نام «کیپور» یا «آسور» همزمان بود.

The preference and tradition of fast on Ashura has been constantly considered and emphasized by Sunnites. In one hand, this day is of great importance to Shiites and to them fasting in this day is considered as innovation and disapproved issue not a traditional and preferred one.
