این مقاله به مسئله کد نمادین در فراشاعری بلی پرداخته و نشان می‌دهد این کد اساس ساختاری نظریه بلی درباره زبان شاعرانه است. مقاله ارتباط اجزای نمادین را با الفاظ هم‌صوت، تجانس‌های صوتی، ویژگی‌های تصویرسازی خیالی و آفرینش‌شناسی اسطوره‌ای تحلیل می‌کند و بر ارتباط میان صدا، که به‌عنوان واحد معنادار تفسیر می‌شود، و تصویر نمادین تأکید دارد. مقاله به بررسی رابطه میان «واژه‌صوتی» و مفهوم آن می‌پردازد.
