این تحقیق یک مطالعه توصیفی کمی است که روابط میان دلبستگی شهری و رفتار محیط زیستی را بررسی می کند. پژوهشگران از طریق پرسشنامه از ۴۰۲ نفر از ساکنان رشت اطلاعات جمع آوری کردند تا تأثیر سطح دلبستگی به شهر و ویژگی ه‌ای شخصی شهروندان بر آگاهی محیط زیستی آنان را سنجش کنند. پژوهش بر این فرض استوار است که پیوند عاطفی افراد با محیط شهری نقش تعیین کننده ای در شکل گیری رفتار محیط زیست دوستانه دارد.
