Persian passion play or ta‘ziya depicts the role of the Prophet’s granddaughter Zeynab during the tragic death of the third Shiite Imam Hoseyn in Karbala in 680. This book describes how Zeynab has become a role model in modern Iranian society, especially during the Islamic Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War.
این کتاب به بررسی نقش زینب، نوه پیامبر، در تعزیه میپردازد؛ نمایش مذهبی سنتی ایرانی که واقعه کربلا و شهادت امام حسین، سومین امام شیعیان، در سال ۶۸۰ میلادی را به تصویر میکشد. کتاب نشان میدهد چگونه شخصیت زینب در جامعه ایران مدرن، بهویژه در دوران انقلاب اسلامی و جنگ ایران و عراق، به الگو و سرمشقی برای زنان تبدیل شده است.
