این یک مطالعه علمی است که بر تجربیات طبیعی در مهدهای کودک تمرکز دارد. موضوع آن بررسی برنامههای آموزشی است که در آن کودکان پیشدبستانی در تماس نزدیک با طبیعت و فعالیتهای فصلی در هوای آزاد شرکت میکنند. پژوهش نشان میدهد که این فعالیتهای بیرونی نقش مهمی در توسعه اجتماعی و هیجانی کودکان دارند. مطالعه بر این اساس است که آموزش و پرورش کودکان کمسن و سال در اروپا بهترتیب یک اولویت جدید و وسیلهای برای افزایش کیفیت زندگی به شمار میرود.
