این مقاله پژوهشی درباره آسیبهای نخاعی ناشی از حادثه است که بر روی جمعیت روستایی تانزانیا تمرکز دارد. مطالعه بهدنبال بررسی میزان وقوع، علل و پیامدهای بالینی این آسیبها و مسائل مربوط به بازتوانی در محیط روستایی است. پژوهشگران اشاره میکنند که شناخت این ویژگیها بهلحاظ جغرافیایی، زیرساختی و اجتماعیاقتصادی در هر منطقه متفاوت است، و این مطالعه قصد دارد خلای علمی در اطلاعات مربوط به آسیبهای نخاعی در تنظیمهای روستایی آفریقایی را پر کند تا بتواند پیشگیری و بازتوانی بهتری را بهدنبال داشته باشد.
Background: Causes, magnitude and consequences of traumatic spinal cord injury depend largely on geography, infrastructure, socioeconomic and cultural activities of a given region.
