Realism Worldview

In modern literature, coinciding with the emergence of realism, abnormality and absurdity are presented as examples of the human condition. Realism is the dominant literary form of the contemporary age, seeking to depict reality. Rather than merely one style among others, realism serves as a foundation for other literary approaches with varying tendencies. For instance, Kafkaesque realism metaphorizes reality to generate anxiety and convey concepts of meaninglessness, while realism in the manner of Thomas Mann employs different methods within a realistic framework.
