Morphology of the Black Chador among the Nomadic Tribes of Southwestern Iran (Case Study: Nomadic Tribes of Southern Ilam Province and Northern Khuzestan Province)

Black Tent is a four-season dwelling that adapts itself with minor changes to different seasons and climates of its region. Beyond meeting the basic needs of habitation, it attends to cultural and artistic dimensions, showcasing a form of authentic indigenous technology and innovation. This research investigates how cultural and social differences between nomadic Kurdish and Bakhtiari tribes influenced the form of the black tent, and identifies the factors that created this dwelling type, examining shared features and differences in its morphology.
