The Reflection of Udhri Love in Two Stories: "Mem and Zin" and "Sham and Vali the Madman"

This is a scholarly article that compares two of the most celebrated love stories in Kurdish literature, Mem û Zîn and Sham û Wali Diwane. Both stories depict chaste, sorrow-filled romances marked by longing and unfulfilled love, and the article notes that despite their many shared features and similarities, no independent comparative study of the two has previously been undertaken. Using a descriptive and analytical approach, the authors examine points of convergence and difference between the two works, including where and how love first arises for the protagonists in each story.
