A scholarly and documentary research work by Mohammad Jafar Mohjoob on Mulla Nasreddin, examining a fundamental principle of folk culture: that emotion prevails over perception, imagination over reason, and feeling over intellect. The author argues that because of this principle, scientific knowledge in folk culture such as medicine, astronomy, and botany has stagnated for thousands of years, retaining ancient practices unchanged. In contrast, arts and endeavors with emotional and imaginative dimensions continue to develop and evolve constantly.
