Cocaine Addiction Put to the Test... Narco-fiction in: A French Novel, a work by Frédéric Beigbeder

This is an academic article examining the theme of drug writing, or "narcography," in the novel *Un roman français* by Frédéric Beigbeder, a French author known for his cocaine addiction. The article explores how Beigbeder, writing within a contemporary Western context defined by consumerism, hedonism, individualism, and autofiction, attempts to justify his own addiction in postmodern society. The study argues that Beigbeder broadens his social and philosophical reflections on illegal drugs to address hedonism and addiction more generally.
