The loss of diverse animal and plant species has accelerated as cities have expanded. The text discusses ecotourism as one of the most popular forms of tourism in recent years, with particular focus on birdwatching, a subset of ecotourism that involves observing birds without disturbing them. Birds are presented as an important component of nature's fauna.
