این مقاله به بررسی «تورکو» میپردازد؛ گونهای از شعر آوازی در ادبیات شفاهی و فولکلور ترکی که بهصورت ناشناس و سینهبهسینه منتقل شده است. تورکو از نظر ریشهشناسی به معنای «متعلق به ترکها» است و در مناطق مختلف به شکلهای گوناگون نواخته و خوانده میشود. این اثر جایگاه تورکو را در مطالعات فرهنگ عامه توضیح میدهد و آن را آینهای از هویت و روح فرهنگی مردم ترک معرفی میکند.
