Abstract Background Early warning systems (EWSs) are used to assist clinical judgment in the detection of acute deterioration to avoid or reduce adverse events including unanticipated cardiopulmonary arrest, admission to the intensive care unit and death. این مقاله به بررسی دلایلی میپردازد که چرا کارکنان بهداشتی و درمانی گاهی هشدارهای سیستمهای پیشهشدار زودهنگام را نادیده میگیرند یا مطابق پروتکل عمل نمیکنند. این سیستمها برای شناسایی زودهنگام وخامت حال بیماران و پیشگیری از ایست قلبیریوی، بستری در مراقبتهای ویژه یا مرگ طراحی شدهاند. پژوهش از روش ترکیب کیفی شواهد بهره گرفته و هدفش روشن کردن علتهای رفتاری و سازمانی پشت این تصمیمهاست.
