فاوست اثر یوهان ولفگانگ فون گوته یک نمایشنامهٔ تراژیک به زبان آلمانی است که در دو بخش نوشته شده و بهعنوان یکی از برجستهترین آثار ادبیات آلمان شناخته میشود. این اثر داستان فاوست را روایت میکند؛ دانشمندی کامیاب اما ناراضی که با شیطان پیمان میبندد و روح خود را در برابر دانش بیکران و لذتهای دنیوی میفروشد. بخش نخست بهجای پردهبندی سنتی، از دنبالهای از صحنهها تشکیل شده است. این اثر مشهورترین نوشتهٔ گوته به شمار میرود.
