An Examination of the Components of Martyr and Martyrdom in Poems Written for Children and Adolescents between 1357 and 1395

This is a research article that examines how the concepts of martyrdom and the martyr are reflected in Persian poetry written between 1357 and 1395 (1978 to 2016), a period spanning the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense era. Using content analysis of 181 identified poems, the study measures the extent and manner in which these themes appear across that body of work. The research situates its subject within the broader context of revolutionary literature, noting that the loss of large numbers of young people during this period significantly shaped poetic output.
