این مقاله به بررسی ترجمههای لیتوانیایی قصههای هانس کریستیان اندرسن، نویسنده مشهور دانمارکی، میپردازد. نخستین ترجمه لیتوانیایی آثار او در سال ۱۸۹۵ منتشر شد و از آن زمان تاکنون محبوبیتش پایدار مانده است. این مقاله نشان میدهد که بیشتر ترجمههای لیتوانیایی نه از زبان اصلی دانمارکی، بلکه از زبانهای واسطهای مانند انگلیسی، اسپانیایی، ایتالیایی و فرانسوی انجام گرفتهاند. موضوع اصلی بحث، نسخههای خلاصهشده، بازنویسیشده و ترجمههای غیرمستقیم این قصههاست.
