About this work
A ghazal from the Divan-e Shams. The poet tells of a 'rogue' who vanished from the circle of friends in the beloved's lane, his blood-soaked robe the only trace; lovers' blood never grows old, and the 'murderer' in this affair is the beloved's glance. In the end he asks the beloved for justice: either return the lost one or step in himself, and sends this slain one's service to Tabriz.
