About this work

A section of Asadi Tusi's Garshaspnameh. After a long war with his brother the Khaqan has won the throne, and his nephew Takin-Tash, avenging his father, keeps raiding his lands. Pressed from two sides, the Khaqan takes counsel with his nobles, who advise him to invite the Iranian commander with gifts and complain to him about the nephew. The Khaqan agrees, offers tribute and gifts in his reply, and invites the champion to stay at his palace for a week.
