دیوان حافظ/ای قصه بهشت ز کویت حکایتی

A ghazal by Hafez from his Divan as edited by Mohammad Qazvini and Qasem Ghani. The poet says the tale of paradise is but a story of the beloved's lane and the account of the houris' beauty but a report of his face, and the breath of Jesus and the water of Khidr are allusions to his lips. He speaks of burning with longing for the dust of the beloved's door and of the fire within, and in the last couplet names what Hafez seeks from this pain and grief: a glance from the beloved and favour from the 'Khosrow'.
