Sadegh Hedayat's novella The Blind Owl, published in 1315 SH (1936/37), on Persian Wikisource. According to Wikipedia, an isolated, unnamed narrator recounts his obsessive love for an enigmatic woman and his gradual psychological disintegration, in a dark, hallucinatory narrative in which reality, memory and nightmare cannot be told apart. The novel is the monologue of a narrator suffering delusions, is regarded as Hedayat's best-known work, and has been translated from Persian into 32 languages.
