About this work

According to Project Gutenberg's description, in this late nineteenth-century book Rosina Filippi reshapes moments from Jane Austen's novels into duologues and short scenes for drawing-room performance, with minimal staging but exact period costume. Written for cultivated amateurs, it gives stage directions, brief narrative links and costume notes, and brings to the stage characters from Northanger Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, Emma and Pride and Prejudice.
