About this work
According to the Avignon Festival, in 2018 Koohestani was sent during a layover in Munich to the airport's transit zone, a so-called waiting room, and returned to Iran, at the time he was reading Anna Seghers's novel Transit. According to the Odeon theatre, the experience and the novel join in one piece: today Amir, an Iranian director, is held by border police at a European airport, while in 1940 people fleeing the Nazis wander the port of Marseille hoping to cross the Mediterranean. According to Marie-Laure Barbaud in M La Scene, four actresses take turns in all the roles, and live cameras scatter their faces across the screens.
به نوشتهٔ جشنوارهٔ آوینیون، کوهستانی در سال ۲۰۱۸ در توقف فرودگاه مونیخ به منطقهٔ ترانزیت، به اتاقی به نام «اتاق انتظار»، فرستاده و به ایران بازگردانده شد، در همان زمانی که رمان «ترانزیت» آنا زگرس را می‌خواند. به نقل از تئاتر اودئون، این تجربه و آن رمان در نمایشی به هم پیوسته‌اند: امروز امیر، کارگردان ایرانی، را پلیس مرزی در فرودگاهی اروپایی نگه می‌دارد، و در ۱۹۴۰ فراریان از نازی‌ها در بندر مارسی برای عبور از مدیترانه سرگردان‌اند. به گزارش ماری‌لور باربو در «ام لا سن»، چهار بازیگر زن همهٔ نقش‌ها را به نوبت بازی می‌کنند و دوربین‌های زنده چهره‌ها را روی پرده پراکنده می‌کنند.
