About this work

According to Helen Hawkins in The Arts Desk, each night an actor who has never seen the text performs it, guided only by messages on a laptop and a voice in an earpiece. Soleimanpour appears on screen, seemingly live from his Berlin flat, and leads the actor from door to door: his wife Shirin in the kitchen, a friend in Berlin, his empty flat in Tehran. Behind one door is an interrogation room where an official questions him about White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, and behind another is his mother's farewell. According to Miriam Sallon in WhatsOnStage, the line between live talk and recorded film keeps blurring, and the journey travels on out among the stars.
