About this work
Les Indes galantes is Rameau's opera-ballet to a libretto by Louis Fuzelier, first performed in Paris on 23 August 1735, with an allegorical prologue and entrées telling love stories in distant lands. At the 2016 Munich Opera Festival, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui joined the tales within a classroom setting and turned them toward questions of migration and cultural encounter, with Ivor Bolton conducting the Münchner Festspielorchester. «لِز اَند گالانت» (هنده‌ای عاشق) اپرا-باله‌ای از رامو بر متن لویی فوزلیه است که نخستین اجرای آن در ۲۳ اوت ۱۷۳۵ در پاریس بود و با پیش‌درآمدی تمثیلی و چند «انتره» داستان‌های عشق را در سرزمین‌های دوردست می‌گوید. سیدی لاربی شرقاوی در جشنوارهٔ اپرای مونیخ ۲۰۱۶ این داستان‌ها را در فضایی مدرسه‌ای به هم پیوند داد و آن‌ها را به پرسش مهاجرت و برخورد فرهنگ‌ها برگرداند؛ ایور بولتون ارکستر جشنوارهٔ مونیخ را رهبری کرد.
